Over One Million People Have Been Displaced in Lebanon: They Need Urgent Support

In just the last few days, over one million people in Lebanon have been displaced. The country has already been crippled by economic collapse with 80% of the population living in poverty. Lebanon is also hosting 1.5 million Syrian, Palestinian and other refugees.

Since the escalation of conflict, the crisis is rapidly escalating as thousands of families flee their homes, struggling to find shelter.

Those displaced are in desperate need of mental health support, safe spaces, and emergency care.

For people caught in the midst of this crisis, the trauma can be overwhelming with families being torn apart, children exposed to violence and entire communities losing their sense of stability. Without immediate mental health intervention, there is a risk of worsening anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress.

Amna’s community partners on the ground are providing essential mental health and trauma care to displaced people. But the scale of the crisis demands more.

With additional support, we can:

  • Create more trauma-informed safe spaces
  • Provide mental health care to frontline workers, helping them cope while they continue their critical work
  • Train more first responders and volunteers to meet the urgent needs of displaced communities

Your support is crucial.

With your help, we can continue to provide the care and resources that thousands of children, families, and frontline workers desperately need to recover and rebuild their lives.
